d'Albora Marinas
Akuna Bay
March 2008
Client:d'Albora Marinas
Project Management:Vegagroup
Brief:Café railing fabrication and installation
Info:The purpose was to install a 13 metre railing along the alfresco cafe area overlooking the water. It served as both a safety fence and helped in defining the perimeter of the cafe for an extra touch of style. Using a motorised floating barge to allow overwater access, five galvanised posts were bolted onto the existing horizontal timber structure and a 50mm thick glavanised pipe joining them. A coat of Rustguard paint was applied onto the posts for further protection against corrosion in this marine environment. Galvanised 3.3mm cables spanning the entire railing were installed, aligned and tensioned using a swager.

SHFA
Harbourside Carpark
January 2008
Client:Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority
Project Management:Vegagroup
Brief:Control circuit modification for energy saving throughout the carpark
Info:The importance of efficiency in the use of electrical power is becoming a dominant factor in today's business. Aside from the positive impact on the environment, power efficiency reflects positively on the business' bottom line. Efficiency in the use of electrical power is often not the highest priority from an operational perspective. However, cost savings may be achieved with little or no impact on the day-to-day operations. Electricity is invisible which makes spotting waste difficult. On this particular project, Vegagroup identified areas of concern throughout the Harbourside carpark by analysing the characteristics of existing load. Lumotrol switching systems were installed on multiple levels and the existing control relays within distribution boards were arranged to be controlled by photoelectric cells. These are also controlled by newly installed overriding switches. The implemented changes to circuits, distribution boards and light configurations impacted on the overall electrical power costs.
